Landmark Team Raises the Walls in Davis!

Korematsu Elementary School is the first of Landmark’s five Davis Joint Unified School District Elementary School TK classroom building projects benefitting from this technique of building wood stick walls off-site, transporting to the site on a flatbed and erecting the walls onto the slab with a crane. The other major benefits to schedule and efficiency are that we could frame the walls offsite as we simultaneously dug trenches, set conduit and poured foundations. This technique for TK classroom buildings has not been done since these are usually portables built onsite. HMC Architects, Landmark Construction (Rocklin), Elevated Construction Services, Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. Crane and Collins Electrical Company, Inc. have teamed up in this phase to reduce the noise, materials waste, truck traffic, costs and overall impact on campus student learning.  The other schools receiving these technical building improvements are Pioneer, North Davis, Willett and Montgomery.
