Landmark Construction has been named the Presenting Sponsor of the “Go The Distance” 5k Aqua Color Run and 24-hour relay to raise funds for the Loomis Education Foundation. The runs will raise money to improve the educational experience of over 4000 students in the Loomis Union School District and Del Oro High School by supplementing academic and enrichment programs. Go The Distance 2016 will be held in Loomis, CA on the Del Oro High School’s campus on May 13, 2016.

Joe Bittaker, President, Landmark Construction is a long-time supporter of this race and sits on the Board of Directors of the Loomis Basin Education Foundation. “I’m thrilled to be a sponsor once again,” said Bittaker.

“Landmark Construction builds schools and we are an advocate for quality education,” said Bittaker.  “In addition, our corporate culture attracts adventurous employees who want to challenge themselves every day, at work and play. The idea of collaborating with teammates over a 24 hour continuous relay is a perfect fit for Landmark Construction.” Landmark Construction employees will be participating in this event.

One of the underlying themes of the Go The Distance race is to encourage students to challenge themselves and learn how to overcome obstacles. The Go The Distance website, encourages participants to: “Challenge the impossible — if you believe you can and are willing to put in the effort to succeed; you are capable of more than you could ever imagine!”

5K Aqua Color Run

The 5K Aqua Color Run will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016. The race starts at 6:30 pm will be held entirely on the Del Oro High School campus in Loomis, CA. The $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt (register by May 5 to get a shirt), color, music and fun.

24 Hour Relay

The 24 Hour Relay Race begins May 13, 2016 at 2:30 and will be held at the Del Oro High School track. Team registration closes on May 5 at midnight. There are six divisions, ranging from solo runner to a maximum of 20 runners, depending on the division. The entry fee is $1000. One runner for each team may be on the track at a time and must carry the team’s timing chip that records the completed laps.
