Our interns play a valuable role in the success of many of our projects. But don’t take it from us. Here is what Brooke Almaraz, one of our summer 2024 interns had to say:
“This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work as a Project Engineering Intern with Landmark Construction (Rocklin) in Rocklin, CA, contributing to the Calistoga STEM Building Project.
During my internship, I gained hands-on experience in mechanical engineering and construction management. Things I accomplished:
– Earned a Procore certification to review project submittals, interpret drawing plans, and coordinate with subcontractors.
– Assessed constructability checklists to ensure blueprints, requirements, and building codes aligned for project success.
– Conducted site walks and inspections, collaborating with structural engineers and inspectors to troubleshoot and resolve onsite challenges.
– Communicated directly with subcontractors and suppliers to manage procurement logs and ensure project schedules stayed on track.
This experience allowed me to bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world implementation, providing valuable insights into construction processes and problem-solving in dynamic environments.
A huge thank you to my team at Landmark Construction for mentoring me throughout this journey and giving me the tools to grow as an aspiring engineer.”
