With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Bittaker has estimated and bid over two billion dollars of construction projects. Of these, the total value of projects completed is over one hundred million dollars. As president of Landmark Construction, he leads by example, collaborating with project teams to build quality projects that exceed expectations, meet deadlines and stay within budget.
Prior to establishing Landmark Construction in 1998, his experience included managing a 27 campus modernization program for the San Juan Unified School District, serving as Mechanical Project Manager for a 19 story mid-rise building in Sacramento which houses the Army Corp of Engineers Emergency Operation Center, and installing some of the first building automation systems in Sacramento.
As a co-founder of Landmark Construction, Mr. Hanson has guided the company and each of his projects in a collaborative manner with a focus on providing clients with quality educational facility projects. Mr. Hanson is responsible for field operations and excels at identifying potential problems before they occur and meeting clients’ needs to assure complete satisfaction.
His over 30 years of construction and business management experience includes a wide variety of project types, including, but not limited to, both new and modernized classrooms, gymnasiums, culinary arts buildings, commercial kitchens and site infrastructure. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Hanson has utilized a proactive, hands-on approach that is appreciated by architects and school districts all over Northern California. Mr. Hanson is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
A civil engineer with over 25 years of large project experience, Mr. Brennan has worked for some of the nation’s largest contractors and has worked on many large projects such as the Reagan National Airport Expansion. His experience includes civil work of all types, including private and municipal infrastructure as well as numerous new school and modernization projects. In his seven years with Landmark, clients have come to rely on his design and value engineering expertise to meet esthetic and functional goals and ensure that projects are completed expeditiously. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering at George Washington University, DC and BA in Physics at East Stroudsburg University, PA. He is OSHA 10 certified and completed training in Caltrans 24 Hour Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
With 30 years of leadership in the construction industry, Mr. Pettersen is a multi-talented project manager and superintendent. He has been a senior manager at Landmark for over 11 years, with responsibility for hundreds of millions of dollars of public works construction, including many of our most challenging school projects. Clients appreciate his aptitude for technology and support in scheduling and construction management software to enhance communication and expedite projects. Mr. Pettersen served as Landmark’s “point man” in successfully delivering millions of dollars of school projects during the 60-day summer construction season when school is out of session, year after year.
With over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Ms. Kelton serves as Landmark’s Preconstruction Manager, facilitating the presentation of the firm’s brand and values in the pursuit of potential projects. This includes providing our valued clients with excellent service and facilitating successful subcontractor coordination during pre-construction, bidding and project start-up phases. Prior to joining Landmark, she worked on many projects throughout the Sacramento and surrounding area, including the Lincoln City Hall and Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. This experience, coupled with her education in Business Administration and Construction Management at California State University, Sacramento, is an outstanding addition to the Landmark team.
With over 30 years of construction management experience, Mr. Story has held almost every senior position, including superintendent, senior project manager, general superintendent and general manager. A licensed General Contractor, he has specialized in building public facilities and schools for almost 20 years. Mr. Story has been with Landmark for 11 years and currently works as superintendent and/or project manager. He recently completed the Live Oak High School modernization and classroom additions. This extensive project was completed in only 60 days, and included four new buildings and the complete reconstruction of the campus — all new electrical and wet utility infrastructure, landscape and hardscape, city right-of-way work, parking lots, tennis courts and bus loops. Mr. Story earned an AS Construction Management, American River College in Sacramento, CA.
Not only is Mr. Watson a proven professional school builder with over 25 years of public project experience, he has also served two terms on his local school board, assuring that he can understand the needs of our clients. A licensed General Contractor, he has completed dozens of school and public projects, including the $18 million CSUS Student Union, the $14 million Roseville Civic Center and the $8 million North Natomas Library. With Landmark since 2010, he was the superintendent for a challenging $7 million modernization of Golden Sierra High School that was completed in two short summer months.
A licensed general contractor, Mr. Bird has over 30 years of construction experience, specializing in public works projects. With Landmark Construction since 2004, and with previous employers, he has been the superintendent and project manager of primarily California Public School projects for over 15 years. His most notable project was the very challenging modernization of John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, which required almost $7 million of modernization work over a very tight time frame. Most of the work was completed over the course of one summer, including a full culinary arts academy that was added on at the last minute. This project also required the coordination of modernization work in occupied buildings that was done during the school year. The project was finished by the deadline and on budget, resulting in Mr. Bird receiving many accolades from the Sacramento City Unified School District.
With more than 15 years of public works construction experience, Mr. Quintanar has worked as superintendent, project manager and construction manager. He has specialized knowledge of modernizing and building new higher education facilities as well as K-12 Lease-Leaseback projects. Functioning as construction manager, he helped oversee Oakland Unified School District’s $800 million capital improvement program, which included 160 public school modernizations. Most recently, he was responsible for Landmark’s complete site rehabilitation of Parsons Middle School in Redding, rebuilding the campus site work and infrastructure in just 60 days. Landmark is proud to have this combat veteran’s expertise on our team.
With over 10 years of construction management experience, Mr. Andersen’s expertise is in large project management. With Landmark since 2010, Mr. Andersen has been involved in several school modernizations including an $8,000,000 project at Golden Sierra High School in Garden Valley, CA. Currently, Mr. Andersen is working on the UC Davis campus under the JOC contract with Landmark Construction, as well as managing the Veterinary Pharmacy remodel. Prior to joining Landmark Construction, Mr. Andersen worked for Rudolph & Sletten, Inc. on major hospital projects, each totaling more than $600,000,000. These included Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Palomar Medical Center West in Escondido, CA. Mr. Andersen graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Construction Management and a minor in Real Property Development. He is also LEED Green Associate accredited.
