Over 150 golfers participated in the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX) Education Foundation Charity Golf Classic on Monday, August 21 at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.
The Charity Golf Classic proceeds benefit the SRBX Education Foundation which promotes construction careers and mentoring for students pursuing construction opportunities. A portion of the proceeds also benefit Design Build, the CREATE mentoring program and the Gordon Stafford Scholarship in Architecture. The event, scheduled for the same day as the solar eclipse, drew quite a crowd with all 150 golfer spots claimed and 10 additional golfers on a waitlist to play on Monday. The last total solar eclipse visible in the United States was February 26th, 1979.
Paul Hanson, Landmark Construction’s Executive Vice President, attended the event with Marketing Assistant Kirsten Goble as a sponsor and host at hole number seven. Landmark celebrated the occasion with Moon Pies and Blue Moon in honor of the eclipse, as well as provided safe, authentic solar eclipse glasses for all participants.
“The excitement primarily occurred between 9 am and 11 am, during which the moon covered up to 80 percent of the sun, the sky turned orange and hazy, and the wind picked up to create quite the unique environment for golfing!” said Paul Hanson.
Paul and Kirsten enjoyed meeting many of Landmark’s industry partners who played through hole seven during the course of the tournament.
Landmark Construction attends events like the SRBX Golf Classic to stay current in the construction scene, reconnect with previous clients, meet new clients and support causes that benefit construction educational efforts.
