The Loomis Basin Education Foundation announced that Landmark Construction will be the Presenting Sponsor of the “Go The Distance” fundraiser on May 12, 2017. The event begins at 2:30 pm at the Del Oro High School track in Loomis. This fundraiser supplements academic and enrichment programs at Loomis Union School District and Del Oro High School.
Individuals and teams must have one runner on the track during the 24 hour relay. There is also a Color Run Adventure Challenge. There are competitive, intermediate and family fun waves on the one mile course starting at 6 PM on Friday May 12.
The founder of the “Go The Distance” event, Greg Bomhoff is totally hard-core, according to Joe Bittaker, president of Landmark Construction. A world-class endurance runner, Bomhoff started the event in 2010 by running around the Franklin School track for 24 hours straight, and taking pledges for each lap completed. Over the years the event has evolved into one of the largest and most fun events in the region, attracting hundreds of competitors and teammates of every age.
Landmark Construction has sponsored this event every year since its inception in 2010, according to Bomhoff. “As always, I appreciate Landmark Construction’s support of this event from the very beginning,” said Bomhoff.
Bittaker was a founding board member of the Loomis Basin Education Foundation and serves on the board to this day. “With our corporate headquarters in Loomis and our dedication to building quality school environments that inspire students, it makes perfect sense to sponsor the Go The Distance fundraiser,” said Bittaker. “We are always up for any challenge, so a 24 hour relay says ‘Landmark Construction’ all over it,” said Bittaker.
