Ellen Kelton, Preconstruction Manager, Landmark Construction participated in the 34th Annual California International Marathon on December 3, 2016, hosted by Sacramento Running Association (SRA), a community-based non-profit.
The event was exhilarating, reported Kelton. “It was an amazing experience,” said Kelton. “We were transported by Folsom Cordova Unified School District buses from a drop-off point to the starting line. The weather was clear and crisp, but not uncomfortably so — perfect running weather.”
The course was lovely, according to Kelton. “The scenery through Folsom, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks and Carmichael was beautiful, with the early morning light peeking through the red and orange leaves,” said Kelton. “There were spectators at every street, cheering us on with signs and cowbells. Law enforcement officers were out in force, helping to secure the route and also encouraging us.”
Kelton reports that she is already signed up for next year’s event and hopes to run in another marathon in between as part of her training.
Landmark Construction supported Kelton by funding her entry fees. The Loomis-based general contractor specializing in fast-paced school construction projects encourages employees to challenge themselves outside of work as well as professionally.
