The John Barrett Middle School & Del Paso Manor Elementary School facilities of the San Juan Unified School District were both profiled on industry tours last Thursday, May 9th by Learning Foundation. Landmark Construction and PBK Architects teamed up on the $55 million John Barrett project for over two years while keeping the campus safe with new student drop-off/pick-up routing and operating during new construction of the gymnasium, new kitchen in the multi-purpose room, expanding the Administration Office, new music and broadcast journalism rooms, science labs plus LED lighting, flooring, paint, HVAC and center campus shade structures with hardscape for outdoor learning. A total campus makeover improving the neighborhood, staff work conditions and students’ learning experience for a school originally designed in the 1960s.
